  • Abstract: The new information technologies have had a dramatic impact on the way people consume information. Academic libraries are not oblivious to these changes and have had to make an effort of adaptation to a new context were immediacy and access from different platforms and devices to a huge amount of resources has become an imperative need to users. In this paper we are reviewing some of the issues academic librarians have to face in order to manage digital collections, specially ebooks, and presenting the results of a survey about the impact of ebooks on Mexican academic libraries.
