Institutional Memberships

MUSE LogosAn institutional membership is a subscription to SALALM’s publications. Recent SALALM publications are available exclusively via Project MUSE and older print publications are steadily being added to the platform. As a trusted online provider of scholarly books and journals, Project MUSE provides long-term preservation for the content it hosts, and integrates with library systems to enhance discoverability.

For over 60 years, SALALM has been publishing original research in the field of Latin American, Iberian, and Caribbean Studies librarianship. In 2023, SALALM began a partnership with Johns Hopkins University Press’s Project MUSE to electronically host SALALM’s new and retrospective titles. While new titles continue to require subscription for access, titles that are 5 years old or older are open access, broadening the reach of SALALM publications.

Institutional member benefits

Institutional members are granted IP-authenticated access to SALALM’s publications on Project MUSE. Partnering with Project MUSE allows SALALM to support a more equitable, sustainable, and wide-reaching publishing program. Please note: an institutional membership does not confer the benefits of personal memberships to an institution’s employees.

Institutions may choose from two levels of membership:

Standard Institutional Membership: $120/year
Institutional Sponsoring Membership: $500/year

Why pay at a sponsoring level?

Institutional sponsoring members understand and value SALALM’s unique role in supporting Latin American, Iberian, Caribbean, and U.S. Latine studies research. The extra financial support provided by our Institutional Sponsoring Members allows SALALM to pursue our publishing activities sustainably. In return, we proudly feature our institutional sponsoring members on our homepage.
