    "The Library of Iberian Resources Online (LIBRO) is a joint project of the American Academy of Research Historians of Medieval Spain and the University of Central Arkansas. Its task is to make available to users the best scholarship about the peoples and nations of the Iberian peninsula. Consequently, the book list is principally drawn from recent, but out-of-print university press monographs. In addition, the collection includes a number of basic texts and sources in translation. These are presented in full-text format and reproduce all the matter included in the original print version. The collection focuses upon peninsular history from the fifth to the seventeenth centuries."

    TESO is a full text database containing more than 800 plays written by 16 dramatists from sixteenth and seventeenth century Spain. Each play is reproduced in full, including the "Preliminaries" which contain "aprobaciones", "censuras", and "privilegios." The editorial board of TESO selected the first editions of each volume and avoided facsimiles.

    "The JCB is an independently administered and funded center for advanced research in history and the humanities, founded in 1846 and located at Brown University since 1901. Housed within the Library's walls is an internationally renowned, constantly growing collection of primary historical sources pertaining to the Americas, both North and South, before ca. 1825. Most well-known, perhaps, are the Library's extensive holdings in the literature of European exploration and travel in the Western Hemisphere, from the first Latin edition of the Columbus letter of 1493, through nearly all of the contemporary narratives of Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch, and English discovery, exploration, and settlement."

    "The majority of the 600 manuscripts can be traced to the private libraries of two Portuguese collectors, conde de Olivais e Penha Longa and Antonio Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro. A significant number of items are concerned with Sebastianism, the belief that King Sebastian, killed in North Africa in 1578, will return to restore Portugal to its former greatness; Luiz de Camões (1524?-1580), author of Portugal's epic poem Os Lusiadas; and the military orders of knighthood. Included are general historical works, histories of the Portuguese sovereigns, letters of seventeenth-century diplomatic figures, and a volume containing 201 letters (1774-79) of Manoel de Cunha Menezes, captain general of Pernambuco and Bahia. Also in the collection is material on the Peninsular Wars, the Miguelist civil strife, royal funeral ceremonies, the Inquisition, and genealogy. The manuscripts span a period of more than five centuries -- the earliest dates from 1438 -- and include original documents and copies."

    The collection "consists of approximately 40,000 "news" and "feature" photographs, several thousand negatives, and twenty cartons of business records, account books, logs, invoices, letters, scrapbooks, and tear sheets of a photographic picture agency which operated in New York City from 1932 to 1942. The strength of the collection resides in the many extraordinary photographs of events and people occurring just before World War II -- including documents of the Spanish Civil War, the Sino-Japanese War, Nazi rallies in Germany and so on."
