To support the instructional, research, scholarship, creative activity, and public service missions of the University of Maine by managing interlibrary loan operations and assisting with the management of the library's collections, with the primary goal of ensuring optimum access and usability for the user community. Position directs and manages interlibrary borrowing and lending services and processes for several University of Maine System libraries. Position directs and manages the lifecycle of electronic resources acquired by the library, including serials, monographs, databases, and media. Position participates in additional interlibrary loan and collection activities as required. Typical hiring range for position is $44,507 to $59,343 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science;
  • professional library experience in academic library services;
  • working knowledge of bibliographic utilities and integrated library systems with an emphasis on serials management functions;
  • experience with automated library systems analysis; working knowledge of interlibrary loan systems;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
  • dedication to excellent customer service that optimizes the library user experience.


  • 3 - 5 years of experience in an Academic Library
  • Relational database management skills
