Our Nueva York: Writing the City in Spanish | Words Without Borders
The writing in our December issue…is not an attempt to simply explore another side of New York, but rather to acknowledge this oft-obscured history with work by five contemporary writers from across the Spanish-speaking world.
“Shoestring Productions: Brazilian Storytelling through Contemporary Woodcuts, Artists' Books, and Small Press Books (1997-2021),” which is on display at ASU Libraries from October 21, 2021-December 9, 2021, highlights a small part of a collection of more than 150 woodcuts, artists' books, and small press books from Brazil at the ASU Library. The exhibit features a mixture of handmade and small-run productions that link illustration and poetry with the crafts of woodblock engravers, printers, seamsters, graphic designers, collage artists and poets.
The HRDI preserves and provides access to paper-based collections, as well as digitized and born-digital audiovisual collections that are global in scope. Recognizing the importance of online human rights advocacy and the fragility of web content, the HRDI also maintains an archive of websites related to human rights issues, which is updated quarterly.

NEH Long-Term Fellowships | New York Public Library
The New York Public Library is pleased to offer National Endowment for the Humanities Long-Term Fellowships to support advanced research at the Center for Research in the Humanities, located in the Library's flagship Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. Fellowships are open to scholars researching the history, literature, and culture of peoples represented in collections housed at the Schwarzman Building and to professionals in fields related to the Library's holdings, including librarianship and archives administration, special collections, photography, prints, and maps. Projects drawing heavily on collections traditionally used to advance the social sciences, science and technology, psychology, education, and religion are also eligible, but only if the project takes a humanistic approach, relies on typically humanities-related methodologies, and contributes to the body of knowledge which enlightens the human experience.
