SALALM Conference Scholarship 2021 Winners

It is our pleasure to announce the winners of the 2021 SALALM Conference Scholarship, Maribel Falcón and Eric Silberberg. Eric and Maribel will participate in a panel with the 2020 scholarship recipients to present their current projects. Please join us in welcoming them to SALALM and making them feel at home.

Felicitaciones, Parabéns, and Congratulations Maribel and Eric!

Maribel Falcón is a graduate student in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. She plans to graduate by Fall 2021 with her Master's of Science in Information Studies. In 2013, she graduated with her BA in Sociology and Latin American studies. Currently, she is a library assistant at the Harry Ransom Center where she is part of the instructional team that utilizes special collections to teach about primary source literacy.

 














Eric Silberberg is currently a Library and Information Science graduate student at
Queens College of the City University of New York. Before enrolling, he was an instructor and researcher at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Tehuacán. He is especially proud of his work performing with and documenting musicians in the region and is interested in the relationship between Mexican music and social history.  This past semester he enjoyed two student positions at CUNY TV and Bronx Community College
 Archives.
